Open-source open-hardware TC / "variwatt" mod for vaping on STM32
Project on github
Characteristics of the resulting device:
39x40x7 two-layer board (it is necessary to make a 4-layer version, smaller size, and with the elements on one side so that you can reverse the direction of use for touch pads, which will simply stick the card to the back of the front panel)
Uses 2S ( two cells in series lithium batteries, which is safer, easier to wind spirals and easier to find small light batteries among those designed for RC models.
Built-in boost controller for charging from USB (with a balanced port ohm, to guarantee non-recharging of one of the cells)
Touch buttons (no need to make holes in the case, just stick the foil pieces on the reverse side and the inscription / corrugated surface from the front)
Cheap components - just one STM32F373C8T6 chip (costs from $ 3 per piece) and several inexpensive MOSFETs of
100+ watts of power (theoretical — even closer to 200, but not tested)
128x64 0.96 "OLED screen (clearly visible in the light, only $ 4)
A flashlight on two 70mA white LEDs (a really useful option in a device that is always at hand)
Soft supports:
Titanium, nickel (ni200), NiFE30, 316L stainless steel and for thermal control spirals
(“variwatt”), from 0.5 watt up to maximum (with correction for battery voltage)
Slow start mode to prevent Shooting and burning of thin spirals
Almost all important parameters are changed through the setup menu (saved in flash memory)
Current problems / plans:
Make support for a variant with a spiral reactor (real stabilization of spiral current and increased thermal control frequency)
Fix sleep mode (I couldn’t figure it out completely), while it eats 3-4 milliamperes, which will discharge 500 mAh battery in a few days
PID- control left me some curve and bad mood (due to problems with the USB debugging could not normally pick up rates)
have to pay a bit remake, smaller and on the back side of the sensors only
support small screens
Optimize times EP firmware (already rests on the limit of 60 kilobytes) :(
Deal with the debugging of USB (STM-native-library terribly curves and it is often buggy)
