The fight against "pirates" in the Russian Federation is gaining momentum. Now Roskomnadzor is increasingly using a new tactic of dealing with resources, where unlicensed content is laid out: the entire site is blocked by a domain name, and not individual pages with pirated materials. Moreover, most sites under this scheme were blocked by complaints of TNT, writes Cnews.
Since the beginning of last year, 21 sites were blocked by a domain name in the Russian Federation. Initially, the agency used the following scheme to combat the spread of illegal content. The owner of the resource, where pirated materials were noticed, was sent a notification requesting that such content be removed. If the owner did not delete the required materials within three days, Roskomnadzor entered the URL of individual pages in the Register of Prohibited Sites. But now the department has begun to enter in the Register not separate pages of sites, but domain names of resources.
According to this scheme, torrent trackers 9torrent.net, hdrezka.me, torchok.org, torrent-rutor.org, tracker.name, like-tor.net and black-torrents.com were blocked. Plus online cinemas kino-tap.com, bobfilm1.net, mir-kino.com, vav.im, amovies.org and yourussian.com, a number of sites with TV broadcasts and computer games.
As mentioned above, most sites were blocked entirely on complaints from TNT. Representatives of the company repeatedly appealed to the Moscow City Court with demands to stop the distribution of such series as Ostrov, Deffchonki, Interns, and Concerned.
Not so long ago, online libraries were also blocked. So, the Ruslit.club library was blocked by a complaint from Eksmo publishing house, and Litmir.co - by a complaint from Litsovet publishing house.
According to representatives of Roskomnadzor, employees of the department only comply with the orders of the Moscow City Court.
If the copyright holder repeatedly appeals to the court with a complaint to a specific site, and re-wins the case, then such a resource can already be blocked forever. Currently, about 23 sites have undergone eternal blocking, including rutracker.org, rutor.org and sedoof.tv, the cinema bobfilm.net, and the music site pleer.com.
