How to fake a fingerprint for iPhone

    The developers have created a fingerprint sensor on the iPhone, as a way to further protect the phone and data. But with the help of certain tricks it is possible to circumvent this precaution.

    At the Mobile World Congres mobile industry exhibition in Barcelona, ​​Vkansee employees demonstrated a way to get around the Touch ID on the iPhone using plasticine and dental gypsum. Vkansee develops miniature sensory fingerprints.

    On the dental plaster remains a fingerprint. Give it a few minutes to dry.

    But what the “plasticine” version looks like, which turned out to be enough to bypass the sensor in the iPhone:



    As shown in the photos, the user only needs to put a finger on the plaster and wait until it freezes. The received mold is applied clay, which is suitable for unlocking the iPhone. But in fairness it should be noted that the Touch ID was designed for a regular smartphone, and not for a top-secret device, and it’s quite simple to bypass the sensor. In addition, iPhone can be password protected, which, as it turned out, is not able to pick up even the FBI. Yes, and to carry out such an attack in practice is quite difficult. It will be extremely difficult to get a plaster or plasticine impression of a finger. This will require special equipment and physical contact with the user.
