The show “Running Man” we will watch on smartphones
Bosom friends and Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon want to produce the new TV show “The Runner” (The Runner). Unfortunately, there will not be a colorful dismemberment and hunting for people with chainsaws: the main character in the plot of the game will need to cross the country in 30 days, while the rest of the participants and all spectators will try to figure it out and capture it.
Another feature of the show will be the fact that it will be possible to watch it only on mobile devices using the go90 application . This application from Verizone’s mobile provider provides access to the provider’s video archive. At the same time, there is no charge for watching videos from this archive from users of mobile Internet.
The show Affleck and Damon will be producing through their company Pearl Street Films. The project will also be attended by Adaptive Studios, with which the couple have already collaborated on the filming of the Project Greenlight reality show , in which novice filmmakers participated.
The idea of the show is not new (even if you do not count the novel "The Running Man " by Stephen King and his film adaptation) - it was sold to ABC back in 2000. But then the idea of "hunting" for a person in an entertainment show was rejected due to the September 11 attacks.
His further path was also not easy - in 2005, Yahoo bought it, spent many years on development, and then rejected the project together with others, closing the Yahoo Screen service. After that, Verizon decided to shoot it as part of the advertising of its video service.
The creators of the show and Verizon representatives are confident in the success of the show itself, as well as in the new presentation format exclusively using mobile devices. The premiere date of the show has not yet been announced.
