German military tested a 10-kilowatt HEL laser

Rheinmetall and the German military tested the laser system by installing it on one of the German warships. During the test, the installation was mounted on a light ship’s gun MLG 27. HEL was used, in particular, to track potential targets, including UAVs and ground targets.
During the test, the installation was first demonstrated in the case, previously its existence was known, but the developers did not go into details. According to the participants in the experiment, everything came well, and in the future, Rheinmetall plans to create other models of such laser systems.
HEL was first presented during the international exhibition of Defense and protective equipment in September last year. Its purpose is to hit small targets (including fairly maneuverable objects in the air), both on the ground and in the air. Previously, laser tests were carried out on the ground, now water tests have also been carried out.
Unfortunately, no test videos were submitted. But what constitutes the installation can be judged by another video that shows the laser gun of the Americans (called HEL MD).
And here are some more American lasers:
According to Rheinmetall representatives, HEL is a quiet and accurate defensive weapon that operates within a given area. If you direct HEL to optical systems, radar antennas, energy sources, you can neutralize the enemy system without completely destroying it.
