Studies at the Haas School of Business (Berkeley, California) show that in the modern world a woman has to make a lot of efforts to keep up with her male colleagues when it comes to career and income, but they do better in crowdfunding, according to phys .org .

Andrea Gorbatei, assistant professor of management at the Haas School of Business, and Laura Nelson from the Kellogg School of Management prepared a report entitled “The Narrative Advantage: Gender and the Language of Crowdfunding,” which describes how women are attracting more attention from potential crowdfunding investors.

Scientists argue that differences in male and female language patterns can partially explain this phenomenon. They analyzed nearly 9,000 different fundraising campaigns on crowdfunding platforms.

“An empirical mystery: in crowdfunding, women are more successful than men and this contradicts the results of studies based on statistics on fundraising outside the Internet. We believe this is partly due to linguistic differences between men and women - the relationship between linguistic choices at the micro level and results at the macro level. Crowdfunding will be able to reduce gender inequality in the future if we identify features of the female communication style, ”the researchers say. Thus, the Internet can weaken gender interactionism, since in virtual reality, the attitude towards a physical person is not dependent on gender.
