Gorgeous panorama of Mars from NASA
Until that moment, when a man gets on Mars, there is still some time. But if someone really wants to visit the surface of the Red Planet, then such an opportunity already exists. It is about virtual reality and panoramic shooting. Agency NASA presented a gorgeous panorama of Mars.
In this case, the viewing angle is all 360 degrees, here you need to thank Curiosity, since the rover is able to photograph the surface of Mars and the entire environment with a very wide viewing angle. It brings together 57 different images taken by the Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI), located at the end of the rover arm.
An array of gray matter nearby is a Martian dune, made up of a kind of sand (although in the usual sense of the word, this is not sand). Now the rover is located in the northwest of Mount Sharp, next to the sand dunes, which are planned to be explored in the near future. In fact, the “sand” on Mars is different from the earth, the properties of these particles are planned to be studied now. Experts studying Mars are extremely interested in the size of sand particles, as well as the dynamics of the movement of particles under the influence of atmospheric flows. With the help of the rover, for the first time it will be possible to obtain detailed information about the sand of Mars. New data will be added to the information that Curiosity received several years ago.
Looking around is somewhat unusual, as the proportions of the world are greatly changed. But interestingly, there is nothing to say. Strange proportions, probably a consequence of the merger of images that were shot with a conventional rather than a panoramic camera. The result is a fisheye effect.
The panorama is interactive, so you can look in any direction, including the soil. You can view the panorama here . A better option, as suggested in the comments, is here .
