What surprised you at TechTrendsExpo this year
This weekend in Moscow, one of TechTrendsExpo 2015, the most booming exhibitions, was held . This time, the organizers moved the event to one of the pavilions of Sokolniki Park and, in my opinion, that’s why it was possible to ride an electric bike, presented by one St. Petersburg company, on the exhibition grounds. In other words, the territory has become more and the people less.
Nevertheless, the exhibition turned out to be very entertaining, but I will talk about the most interesting projects in this article.
Let's start with the guys who introduced the “new Skype”, or rather the Timvi 3D project .
Now you can not just call and see each other, but get together in one audience (more precisely, collect your avatars), where you can discuss a variety of issues, while using all the benefits of 3D interaction: communicate face-to-face, show presentations and even shine with pointers to the right places on the virtual presentation screen. In the near future they will integrate with VR glasses and then the creation will really be transferred to the audience to the speaker.
A BlackBeeTrack device for tracking goods was also presented.
On the hub in 2013, there was a very successful article about a device for tracking packages and a completely unexpected way for a package to be sent. A couple of years have passed and the guys who created BlackBeetTrack open up new opportunities for tracking: now you can find out not only where your package went, but also how it was handled. And if, say, they drop it, a person will immediately receive a notification about this on his phone. At the same time, the device itself turned out to be very compact and when tracking every 5 minutes, the charge is enough for 2 months.
Samsung introduced 3D scanning using a conventional tablet. The application clings to the dots and literally in a minute generates a 3d-model, which can immediately be sent to a 3D printer. He is already good at scanning objects, but in order to get a person’s model, he needs to be prepared for this by creating the necessary lighting and wearing suitable clothing, such as a plaid shirt. Nevertheless, they still tried to create my model.
And it turned out to be a funny cartoon :) I was
disappointed with only one fact - they are not going to sell the application for downloading to other types of tablets and phones, since its task is to increase sales of Samsung tablets.
The SMIT project decided to send us into the future for 60 minutes and organized an exhibition of future technologies at the Museum of Moscow, which will start on November 1. And at TechTrends, Marty looked at DeLorian.
And everyone was allowed to try a cardboard hoverboard.
By the way, at the exhibition in the Museum of Moscow they promised to show a real magnetic hoverboard of domestic design.
More information about the project can be found on the museum website .
Traditionally, several virtual reality glasses and projects related to it were presented at the exhibition. Fibrum
VR-glasses
A fairly well-known project that needs no introduction. These are glasses, inserting a phone into which you will be transferred to virtual reality. It is worth noting that the guys are developing their software platform, that is, they make games themselves and this platform is open to third-party developers.
VR lab
Touching virtual reality with your hands turned out in the game from VR lab using Oculus Rif. Moving objects with hand movements, I went through a small quest similar to the game Portal
VR-glasses Homido
Another vr-platform where you need to insert your phone, but with its own characteristics. We were told that this is a French development assembled in China, although it looks, frankly, like Chinese consumer goods. However, what difference does it make if it brings so much pleasure.
They also showed their ads in augmented reality when hovering over a box.
"Star Blade" - a virtual reality simulator
Also at the exhibition there was an opportunity to try a VR-attraction worth 2 million rubles .
In the game, you control the movements of your chair yourself, so the “vomiting” effect, typical of all virtual reality attractions, was significantly reduced. The game is really exciting, as it takes us into space, where you shoot at enemy ships using the buttons on the joystick. It should be noted that the glasses are used in-house and have the best resolution in the world at the moment. However, it’s not so significant as to completely get rid of visible pixels.
As I already mentioned, a domestic-made electric bike was presented at the exhibition, and I personally really liked it. It has a fairly high-quality assembly, good characteristics, and it can be folded up very, very compactly, which makes it easy to put it in the trunk of any car or even just take it with you on the subway.
Perhaps I will publish here its characteristics in a little more detail:
Engine: 250W, 36V (they will let it go to any European country without problems)
Battery: 12Ah, 36V, Li-ion (very compact and can be removed very easily)
Wheel diameter: 12 inches
Dimensions: 1230х525х1050 and all 780x270x740 in assembled condition
Weight: 18kg (which is very good for an electric bike )
Maximum speed: 25km / h
Range: 35-40 km on one charge
Payload: 120kg
You can find out more about it on the manufacturer's website .
The event turned out to be really interesting, although not crowded. It can be seen that many young teams are trying to come up with something new and most of all are happy that some are trying to organize production in Russia.
That's all, with you there was a simple service for choosing complex Dronk.Ru equipment .
Do not forget to subscribe to our blog , there will be many more interesting things.
