Astroneer - a game that will make you feel like a "Martian"

The movie "The Martian" with Matt Damon in the title role attracted the attention of not only lovers of Hollywood action games, but also those who are close to the theme of Mars. Of course, in this film there are a lot of inconsistencies, any inaccuracies and other things, but anyway, the picture is quite interesting. Watching a film, you can merge with the personality of an astronaut forgotten on Mars for several tens of minutes and feel all his emotions.

The same thing can be done in the game Astroneer. True, one still needs to think here - because without this, you simply cannot survive on another planet. Games made for space lovers have been around for a long time, just remember the Kerbal Space Program. But Astroneer allows you to feel like an explorer of another planet, with its open spaces and everything else.

Here the astronaut explores not one, but many planets, each generated independently. The character will have to survive in difficult conditions (including sandstorms), build a base, even change the surface of the planet. For example, you can level the surface, dig tunnels, extract minerals buried in the ground.

So far, the game is in the early stages of development, and will be released only under Windows PC (via Steam). Nevertheless, all this looks very promising. The graphics look interesting, the storyline is also impressive. It would only be interesting to know how realistic the game is, that is, does its world obey the laws of our world. Companies such as 343 Industries, Ubisoft and Valve are involved in the development of the game, so the likelihood of the toy coming out is very high.

As you can see, the game character has much more opportunities than the hero of the movie “The Martian”. But perhaps this is for the better - the more interesting it will be to play. And who can know - all of a sudden, after a couple of decades, astronauts on the Moon or Mars will also be able to change the surface of the planet with a wave of their hands?
