The apartments and offices are full of air conditioners of old models. They often work fine, but there are not too many functions in such devices. Yes, and most of the new models also can not be called "smart." But in our time of the rapid development of information technology, IoT (the Internet of things) I want that if not the whole house, then at least some devices could be called “smart”.
The same air conditioning - you come home or to work, turn on the air conditioning, and wait until the temperature becomes comfortable (it doesn’t matter if it means heating or cooling). I would always like to have a suitable microclimate in a house or office, right? And here a small device comes to the rescue, a system called Sensibo. This system, among other things, helps to save energy - you can set the air conditioner to work in such a way that the device turns off if there is no one in the room for a certain time. By the way, the device was developed by a small Israeli startup - and the Israelis know how to use air conditioners like no other.
What does it look like?
The system has a very small size, it consists of two parts - a hub and a control sensor. The hub is needed then that if you have several air conditioners installed, then you could manage all at once, and not alternately.
The control sensor is installed directly on the air conditioner, using the base with the adhesive side. This Velcro is very strong, so that the sensor will not come off or fall.
The sensor constantly interacts with the hub, which, in turn, connects to the Wi-Fi network of the home or office.
Configuration
Inside - a whole set of detectors, including a temperature detector, a moisture detector, iBeacon, an air flow detector, a light detector, an infrared receiver.
As a platform, CC2538 is used, working according to RF standard 802.15.4 with 6LoWPAN protocol. The secondary MCU is Texas Instrument's CC2541 with Bluetooth Low Energy and iBeacon support.
In standalone mode (from two CR123A batteries) Sensibo can work for about three years.
What can Sensibo do?
To control the entire system you need to use a mobile device with a preinstalled application. There are software versions for both iOS and Android, plus there is also a program for Pebble. It is immediately clear that the system was made by geeks.
The smartphone can be used both as a remote control and as a monitoring system - the microclimate indicators in the room are displayed on the screen.
In addition, Sensibo can be controlled from anywhere where there is Internet access, while most of the functions work in automatic mode. For example, if the owner approaches the house, Sensibo turns on the air conditioner and it starts working for heating or cooling, setting the necessary microclimate parameters in the room.

- Determining the degree of contamination of air conditioning filters;
- Determination of weather outside the house, to establish the optimal temperature / humidity.
