In June, the SSD with a maximum capacity of 6 TB will appear on the market in June . The size of the presented Fixstars drive is 2.5 inches. It is worth noting that only in February of this year, the company introduced 3 TB SSDs, and now the volume of drives has doubled. At the same time, Fixstars previously reported that the next drive model will have a capacity of only 5 TB.
The 6TB SSD model is called the SSD-6000M. Unfortunately, the cost of this model has not yet been announced, but very little time remains until June, so soon this issue can be closed.
In addition to price, developers are not too willing to share information about the characteristics of SSDs. True, the read / write parameters are known, and are, respectively, 540 MB / s and 520 MB / s. This model uses memory type MLC NAND, with a 15 nm manufacturing process. The device interface is SATA, 6 Gb / s.
The dimensions of the SSD (the case of the drive is metal) is 100 * 70 * 9.5 mm. Weight - 97 grams.
