New from OCZ: Intrepid 3700 SSD for Enterprise Clients

Hello Giktayms! CeBIT 2015 brought some additions to the corporate segment - the OCZ Intrepid 3000 SSD family was replenished with the new Intrepid 3700 model. Perhaps the main improvement over the Intrepid 3600 was the transition to eMLC memory and, as a result, a significant increase in storage capacity, up to 1920 gigabytes. More details under the cut.

    OCZ Intrepid 3700 Series

In total, 4 drive models are presented in the series: with a capacity of 240, 480, 960 and 1920 gigabytes. All of them have a classic 2.5-inch form factor and are equipped with SATA3 (6 GB / s) interface. The OCZ Everest 2 controllers (the Marvell 88S9187 girl ) have an optimized firmware that supports all modern technologies for cleaning disks from debris and leveling wear. As I mentioned at the beginning, the OCZ Intrepid 3700 uses Toshiba's 19nm eMLC ToggleNAND flash memory.

    OCZ Intrepid 3700 SSD Performance

The claimed performance level for the OCZ Intrepid 3700 series of solid-state drives - linear read speed reaches 540 MB / s (when working with data blocks of 128 KB), linear write speed - up to 470 MB / s (blocks of 128 KB), with random reading of blocks 4 Kbytes - up to 91,000 IOPS and with random recording of blocks of 4 Kbytes - up to 13,000 IOPS.

    OCZ Intrepid 3700 Corporate Chips

For full and unconditional compliance with the standards for corporate drives in the new series, the following technologies were used:

    • ECC Error Correction to significantly reduce UTC
    • Complete data integrity protection, which checks them at every stage: during transmission, during recording, during processing and during storage
    • Protection of data in flight in the event of a sudden power failure completes all recording operations, ensuring the safety of information.
    • Internal RAID for added security and added data security

The OCZ Intrepid 3700 rims offer a five-year warranty. They are great for active reading scenarios such as online archives, video streaming, virtual machines, and web applications. The recording resource is 1 DWPD for drives 240, 480 and 960 gigabytes, and 0.5 DWPD for a drive with a capacity of 1920 gigabytes.
