Study: Firefox and Chrome users are top employees
Cornerstone OnDemand, which develops and markets online job test software, has revealed its findings from the Big Data world. It turned out that those job applicants who use Chrome or Firefox to pass the test do their job better and stay on their jobs for an average of 15% longer. We are talking about specialists in the field of telecommunications, sales and the hotel business.
The research methodology was as follows. Employment specialists before the interview with the candidate suggested that he take a 45-minute online test related to determining the personality type and characteristics of a particular applicant. The fate of the successful test was monitored at the workplace. A total of approximately 50,000 people were analyzed.
As a result, the results showed the following: Internet Explorer and Safari users are more likely to migrate to a new workplace than those who prefer Chrome or Firefox. In addition, recent respondents simply “do their job better.” The difference between these two user groups is 15%. A graphical representation of the resulting statistics looks like this:
The head of Cornerstone does not yet know how to interpret the research results. Perhaps the fact that a person loads a different browser, rather than using the pre-installed one, suggests that he is simply more informed. This, in turn, affects the quality of the work it performs. However, this feature is not yet significant when applying for a job, as it can be easily leveled by many other factors.
