Upgrading to Windows 10 will be free even for pirates

Many are aware that Microsoft promised a free upgrade to the tenth version of their operating system to all owners of Windows 7 and Windows 8. But today there was an unexpected turn.

“We are upgrading to Windows 10 all PCs - both authenticated operating systems and those that have not authenticated,” Terry Myerson told Reuters.

You can be sure that such an unprecedented step will bring millions of new users into the bosom of Microsoft. Apparently, the moment came when the potential income from the sale of related programs and services exceeded the cost of the operating system itself.

At first, not everyone believed in the attraction of unprecedented generosity from Microsoft, because in a Reuters interview it was about China. But there is another source: a company representative confirmed for Verge that the case is not limited to China.

Anyone whose device meets the hardware requirements will be able to upgrade to Windows 10, including those who use a pirated copy of the operating system. We hope that our users will appreciate the benefits of owning licensed Windows.
