Elon Musk will write a book about Mars and Earth for $ 3.5 million

A successful entrepreneur, the head of companies such as Tesla and SpaceX, Ilon Musk is about to begin work on a new project. The project is not another company, as one might expect, but a book. Musk will write it for Penguin Books, which pledged to pay a fee of $ 3.5 million.

The book will consist of two main parts. The first part is devoted to the Earth and the possible difficulties of the continued existence of man on his own planet. The second part is devoted to the idea of ​​a “great migration of the peoples of the Earth” to other planets. Musk will talk about what can already be done for this, and what remains to be done.

Ilon Mask has his own literary agent - Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, the owner of the Worldwide Literary Department. Walsh, after the idea of ​​creating the book came up, immediately turned to several major publishers with a proposal to finance the writing of the book. Everyone agreed. After that, Elon Musk has already reduced the number of project participants to two. And Penguin Books, after meeting with Musk (representatives of another publishing house participated in the meeting) came out victorious. In general, this is the rare case when an author chooses a publisher and sets conditions for it.

The exact amount of the transaction between Musk and the publisher is unknown, but there are persistent rumors in which the figure of 3.5 million US dollars appears.
