The director of "District 9" will help release a full-length version of the NF film "The Leviathan"

Last week, the gorgeous short-length science-fiction movie The Leviathan was uploaded to YouTube. The film shows the hard life of people who collect some exotic substance on another planet. Everything would be fine, but not only people live here, but also giant creatures like earthly whales. Unlike earth whales, alien leviathans are not peaceful. And when you consider that the exotic substance is extracted from the eggs of these creatures, the situation does not seem fabulous at all.

In a short time, the video gained 1.5 million views, becoming one of the most watched videos of the week. Neill Blomkamp, director of District 9, is currently planning to release a full-length version of this film. Simon Kinberg, ex-producer of the latest X-men film, will also help him in this.

However, for the time being it’s impossible to talk about any clear-cut plans, since the money is needed for filming. Now they plan to ask for funds from Fox, but there is simply no guarantee that the studio will give money.

I would like to hope that funds will be found, since the film can turn out not just interesting, but very effective, spectacular - with due attention to good scriptwriters.

By the way, the script for the short film was written by Jim Uhls (Jim Uhls), who at one time adapted the script of the Fight Club for the filming of the film.
