Google will return $ 19 million to parents whose children made rash in-game purchases

The theme of in-game purchases in applications for smartphones has been raised on Habré and Geek more than once. And indeed - after all, very recently (before the corporation updated credit card settings), a child could take a tablet or phone of a parent with a credit card tied to an account and make a lot of fun purchases.

Some kids, without knowing it (or not thinking about the consequences) spent thousands of dollars of parental money to buy another sword or skate in any Android or iOS toy. Parents of such children repeatedly appealed to the court, authorities, and it worked.

The US Federal Trade Commission has entered into a reimbursement agreement with Google for parents whose children made rash purchases. The amount of return (for all parents, there may be thousands)19 million US dollars. The corporation is now sending out letters to its users, who may have been hurt by in-game purchases of their kids.

Apple is also returning funds to parents in a similar fashion. The amount that Apple is going to return to the victims is 32.5 million US dollars . Refunds by the corporation are not made as a goodwill gesture, but by decision of the same US Federal Trade Commission.
