Business commented on fan IP blocking

Roskomnadzor continues to block the IP addresses used by Telegram, although the messenger in some cases continues to work without a VPN. On April 22, the Roskomsvoboda website published a list of more than 90 blocked IP IPs, some of which are available to users in Russia with varying success. In total, ILV blocked about 18 million IP addresses, including Amazon subnets . HRC Chairman Mikhail Fedotov has already advised Roskomnadzor to clarify exactly how to block Telegram without violating the rights of third parties.

While Roskomnadzor speaks of Telegram degradation in 30%, and Pavel Durov writesabout grants for the development of VPN and Proxy, Russian business is experiencing problems due to a fan-out of IP addresses. Geektimes contacted representatives of Russian services and asked about how they dealt with difficulties.

Roskomnadzor April 16, 2018 began to block Telegram messenger in the territory of the Russian Federation in the execution of the court decision.

This led to an increase in the awareness of citizens of the country about ways to bypass locks: now, even in grocery stores, sellers will help buy a proxy server to bypass the lock on Telegram so that customers can use the store’s bot.

In 2016, the RuTracker lock led to similar results, a year after which the number of downloaded files did not change.

Due to the fan locks of addresses, Russian companies are experiencing difficulties. The general director of the service Kupibilet Dmitry Sviridov told Geektimes about the problems caused by Telegram blocking. According to him, among the millions of blocked IP addresses there were subnets that were used by both the company and its partners, which led to the impossibility of making requests from Cupibilet's servers to airline reservation systems. The problem was solved by raising the VPN. Services were unavailable to the client for two hours. “We endure inconvenience, try to respond as quickly as possible, but we treat what is happening with understanding,” said Dmitry.

Giveme.ru flower shop did not work for two days due to the blocking of Amazon IP addresses by Roskomnadzor. Pavel Gross Dnepnov, the founder of Domains.ru, the spouse of the owner of the site giveme.ru, said that the turnover is 40-60 thousand rubles per day. He considers going to court meaningless, as the court, in his opinion, will side with Roskomnadzor.

Anatoly Vorontsov, serial entrepreneur, founder of Ruvod.com , spoke about negotiations with Roskomsvoboda on the topic of legal support. He noted that he could not leave a complaint on the website of Roskomnadzor due to inoperability when filling out the questionnaire.

Samsung talked about user problems connecting to the Samsung Smart Hub: “The company's specialists are informed about this incident and are actively investigating the causes of the incident. "Samsung apologizes to users for the inconvenience and will make every effort to resolve the problem soon."

Meanwhile, Mikhail Fedotov, chairman of the Russian Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC), suggested that Roskomnadzor find out from the court how to comply with the order to block the messenger without violating the rights of others: “If the court is in difficulty, the court may turn to The Constitutional Court on the verification of the constitutionality of federal law, on the basis of which the court made its decision. ” In an interview with RBCFedotov noted that a reasonable judge would not make an unenforceable decision, and could subsequently clarify the decision or suspend its implementation.

Pavel Durov in his Instagram said favorite movie - "300", "History of 300 Spartans who fight to protect the freedom of its citizens, will always inspire people through the millennia."
