According to the results of Rambler.iOS # 9

So the summer has passed as if it had never happenedand knowledge-hungry developers reached for school, university, or online courses. For them, as well as for everyone interested in iOS-development, we have prepared a report on the Rambler.iOS mitap, which was announced earlier .

Mitap was held at the end of May in our cozy office at Danilovskaya Manufactory. The program had three reports.

Denis Batvinkin opened the evening with the theme "Life with out of memory" . In the report, he examined what out of memory error is and why it is worth paying more attention to this problem. Denis talked about the causes of OOM error and the tools that help track this problem.

Between the reports, we suggested that all participants in the rally meet divide into “interest groups” and discuss topical issues with experts.

    • Swift vs Objective-C with Arthur Protko from Mail.ru Group and Valery Popov from Yandex.
    • React Native with Ivan Mikhailov and Timofei Lugov from the Poster Team.
    • Open source libraries with Ekaterina Trishina from the RAMBLER & Co team.

I really liked the format: 3/4 of the guests in their feedback indicated that they would like it to be permanent.

After half an hour, he took the floor holivarov Samvel Medzhlumyan with klikbeytovym report "whether the back-end developers are needed when there is Swift? " . Samvel considered Swift language as a tool for implementing backend development tasks, compared server Swift frameworks both among themselves and with popular solutions in other languages.

During the break, all those present took part in the game “What? Where? When?”, With the design of which Julia Zhilyaeva helped us , Anastasia Vasyura was responsible for the development of the iPad application , and the well-known Samvel backend for Swift (!) . Everyone who successfully answered the quiz question received a prize from our sponsors: a license for cool software or a ticket for a conference.
