Would you like to talk about testing mobile apps?
There are such people - testers. Extremely needed people. Help improve applications. But they have a passion: everyone is testing. Everywhere they look for bugs: both in the programs we develop, and even in the dishes of our dining room. Now they decided to test the events of the CoLaboratory series. But you never know, in friend and in this format of public discussions there are some flaws. As a test case, they decided to use the discussion on testing applications on mobile platforms.
Actually, it is to this event that we invite all those who are interested in testing mobile applications and manual testing in general. We will be glad to see you in the Moscow office of Kaspersky Lab on June 7 at 13 p.m. Just in case, we recall the addressc: Leningradskoye Shosse, d.39A, p. 2. You can register for the event on this page.
During the event, our experts will make five reports.
To begin with, Anna Karpenko will talk about functionality that must be tested on all mobile devices, as well as compare test scripts for mobile and desktop applications. In addition, he will tell success stories. Well, he will also tell you about the fails - where would you go without them. In particular, about how we once did not fit into Apple’s guidelines or about how Google considered the self-defense mechanism of the Android product to be incorrect, which required authorization to uninstall.
Then, Ivan Tsepelev will talk about the evolution of mobile testing tools at Kaspersky Lab. In particular, he will talk about how the APK looks from the inside and why to obfuscate the code, give examples of the main Android Debug Bridge (ADB) commands that allow you to work with the emulator and with real devices. Along the way, Ivan will explain what my.kaspersky.com portal is, how we use it to synchronize user data between the same product on different platforms, and most importantly about the delicate points in testing this solution.
The third will be Dmitry Myachin. He will describe the problems specific to specific versions of the Android system and to the firmware of specific devices. In particular, he promises to talk about:
The next presentation will be about the newsletter function inside the product. Dmitry Bondarenko will tell how the company uses this feature, why it is needed at all, and, most importantly, what problems we encountered when testing it, how difficult it was, and why we could not test this feature right away.
The last one will be Nikita Voronov, who will talk about what Exploratory testing is and why it is necessary to test for testers. Along the way, he will explain what we mean by the concept of risk, how it is formed, where we get the indicators of popularity and criticality of risks from, how we build test scenarios, where we get information from and how to supplement team testing.

- cases where as a result of changes in the behavior of the new version of the system we had to completely change the logic of the product;
- cases of using completely standard, documented methods and APIs, which, however, sometimes led to critical system errors;
- a change in Google’s policy that has thrown out features that have been beneficial for a long time.
The next presentation will be about the newsletter function inside the product.
