Snapchat users watch 7 billion videos daily

According to Business Insider , by the number of video views, the Stanford University alumni project almost caught up with the world's largest social network - Facebook. Over the past few months, Snapchat has taken a huge leap in terms of this indicator - users now view around 7 billion videos daily. This was partly due to the ability to download Snapchat Stories - short videos that users can share with each other and which are available for viewing for 24 hours.

The number of views began to increase sharply in May last year, when the company registered 2 billion daily video views. In November 2015, this figure tripled, amounting to 6 billion views every day.

At the same time, Facebook announced that in November, users of the social network watched 8 billion videos every day. As you know, the brainchild of Mark Zuckerberg is the largest social network in the world, about 1 billion users visit it daily, at the same time, the army of active Snapchat users is only 100 million people.

A mobile messaging service with attached photos and videos was born about five years ago - the first release of the application took place in September 2011. The company is currently valued at $ 16 billion.

However, Facebook’s video viewing statistics aren’t quite right to compare with Snapchat viewing statistics, since any video in the user’s feed that starts and plays for more than three seconds is counted as watched (in the settings you can set the option to automatically play), and in Snapchat the user must click on the video.
