Hangover is not in Vegas

Next March, we are going to the JiveWorld conference and gathering a team of like-minded people who are ready to go with us and find out the latest about corporate portals, social intranets and the Grand Canyon.

There is such a thing that there is very little talk about in comparison with technologies, features and ways to promote your site - this is the relationship with customers and partners. In fact, our people are much more open to establishing relations than many others. For example, the Swedes begin to do business with you no sooner than after three years of acquaintance. But our compatriots, before embarking on a long-term relationship, ask themselves: “Ready and if I want to work with these people, can I trust them?”

A great reason to get to know people better is to go camping with them. But friends, not businessmen, go camping, so we need a more attractive legend. So, a good occasion for a business acquaintance is a foreign conference, or rather, some kind of joint event before or after it.

Why is this all? Next March we are going to the annual JiveWorld16 conference . It is hosted by the company Jive Software , which makes the coolest collaboration solutions, the most social intranet and the most advanced corporate portals.

The conference will be held in Las Vegas and after it we are going on a two-day trip to the Grand Canyon. This route has been tested by us several times. I assure you - SO you have not traveled yet. You'll like it. 100% guarantee.

    Who is with us?

How we drive to the Grand Canyon.

Here and below are photographs taken by participants in our trips.

So, we are gathering people, ideally a couple of cars. Having drunk morning coffee, we sit down on horses and leave the glorious city of Las Vegas. On the way we call on the Hoover Dam. Just because everyone calls on her. And forth, on the prairie!

On Skywalk, a platform with a transparent floor for viewing the Grand Canyon, it is better to be in the afternoon, because the sun will be behind and will give a chic pinkish tint. After the bridge we leave for a distant parking lot, where there are few people, there are no time limits, and only you and the Canyon remain. And only somewhere far below, dragonfly helicopters fly over Colorado.

If the team wants to stay in silence, then in the evening in a secret, deserted place we arrive at a rural hotel. Here it is, the quintessence of continental America: the hozblok on the right is a separate hotel room with a shower, air conditioning and a coffee machine (!), On the left is an indispensable attribute of American life, on the back is a prairie with joshua and cacti. By the way, for the destruction of a cactus in Arizona, you can get 20 years in prison, so be careful.

But if you have the strength and still light, we taxi to Stockton Hill Road, the one that leads to Kingman, and halfway we reach dry lakes, which are not found on any tourist map. There are five or six kilometers of absolutely even dry land and there is no sheriff. I declare with all responsibility that skidding at a speed of 150km / h is cool! By the way, once we planted there and together we pulled out a Dodge Challenger. There was a funny story!

After pokatushek we go to spend the night in Williams, which stands on the old Route 66 highway. There are a million motels there, you can stop at any one. Here, after eight in the evening, food can only be bought at a gas station, so if a group of travelers needs a strong drink at night, we stock up in advance.

In the morning it's all mine! We eat breakfast in a single restaurant, the entire menu of which consists of a combination of traditional ingredients - beef, eggs, corn and potatoes with rare interspersed vegetables. Then a walk and compulsory shopping, cowboy things and all that. Here I once acquired a portrait of Jack Daniels himself.

Then we go north and again admire the Grand Canyon. In this place it is wider, but there are already crowded and on the whole expectations are clear. Sneakily through binoculars we observe the life of the Alapaev tribe (or Khalapaev, or Hualapaev, these are three different tribes, and I no longer remember which of these tribes lives in this part of the reservation).

And full of impressions we leave back to Vegas! For example, with a stop in Kingman, where you can eat steak, listen to country music and dance with cheerful local rural people in some kind of steakhouse.

That's all! Nobody bought anything dear to anyone. No one owes nothing to nobody. Just for these two days, you and your companions became friends and enriched with impressions. Yes, and it's time to go home. Work.
