Effects of workspace on efficiency

    For a very long time I went to write this article.
    Back in the summer here, on Megamind, an article was posted about how one company of developers was looking for a comfortable place to work and eventually came to the conclusion that the ideal office should be built. Thanks to the guys for the inspiration to share their own experience in different types of rooms.

    Meet you - I’m a marketer (advertising and marketing specialist) in an Internet marketing company.
    I have accumulated rich experience in different types of rooms.
    A huge building in the forest, owned by one company, a business center in the business part of the city, where many companies sit, a small office near the metro. Everywhere had its advantages and disadvantages.

    Becoming part of a small new team - we were looking for a convenient space where no one interferes with working and where it would be convenient to get with minimal loss of time. Travel time to work is one of the most painful issues. Because in the cold season, and this is almost 6 months in Siberia, getting on the roads becomes difficult. For 6 months, the city in the morning and evening stands in 8 point traffic jams. Tired of all this, we came to the decision to rent a cottage, which was converted into a business house.

    The location is quite convenient - there are no traffic jams on the way to work in the opposite direction either.
    We have more than 300 square meters of work space at our disposal, there are a couple of open space rooms and several rooms for technicians, a kitchen-dining room, a meeting room, a relaxation room, which also serves as a common room for training. All summer we held training seminars, which the company always held a couple of times a week, on a spacious veranda. By the way, the veranda also became a dining room and a sports hall - everything depended on the weather and our mood.

    There is a parking for 5 cars in front of the house, where we already managed to cram 7. In our free time, we fantasize over how to increase parking for a couple more parking spaces.

    The heat came to our house with the first cooling, because the house has its own heating.
    The work in a relaxed atmosphere affected the efficiency more than favorably. Without being distracted from work on trifles (tickets, a herbolife, books, etc.), we manage to do more and better, which is of great importance in our field of activity.
    In many respects, previously untested approaches in working with clients play a big role - project teams. Previously, small groups were involved, if you can call it that - an SEO specialist and a support specialist. Now the scheme has expanded - they are working on one project - SEO-specialist, customer support specialist, web-developer, web-analyst, copywriter and marketer. Labor costs are higher, but they are offset by high productivity.

    Given that the movement is one of the most sensitive moments, then here were their advantages. To the nearest metro on an empty road 15 minutes by car without exceeding speed. With traffic lights and small traffic jams - 25 minutes.
    Clients willingly come to us, rather out of curiosity, as it is not typical for Novosibirsk to work outside the office building, especially if the state has about 20 people.

    Sales department specialists also respond that it is quite comfortable to go to meetings, although many of them do not have personal transport and travel by public. By the way, what is a minus of the location - the public transport stop is relatively far away.

    At the moment, our corporate house is rented, but plans are to build our own building outside the city and continue to work in this format of the room.
    It will be interesting to know who else has experience in such work.
