Rostelecom uses the project financing mechanism to receive the 60 billion rubles that the company needs for the construction of data centers, the modernization of data backbone transmission, and the construction of optical networks. Data centers will be built for the company's own needs and for third-party customers.

One of the company's future projects could be the construction of a data center with 8,000 server racks based on the Kalinin NPP together with Rosenergoatom, Vedomosti reports . This is slightly less than a third of the entire market for commercial data centers in Russia.
