About how students and the site are engaged, and now they are not late for lectures

    “Where is Vera?” - I practically lay down on my desk so that Daria sitting in front of me could hear my whisper only, she immediately deviated and started scribbling something. I looked around: in addition to us, the audience had almost the entire stream, an eternally gloomy teacher, even the local Vaska was yawning on the windowsill, basking in the morning sun. There was no faith.

    An arm bent behind me in an unnatural pose waved a note in front of me in a triple folded shape. “She slept. Yesterday, only at 2 I remembered the seminar ”- Vera was already not very good at organizing herself, and after the appearance of the site and the blog she was completely lost in time. I took a pen:

    “In the evening we will all gather at her. I'll tell you about the Bullet Journal method. Grab the empty notebooks. ”

    The kettle began to whistle, calling everyone into the kitchen.

    - So you want to say that your scribbles in a notebook help you not to be late for a lecture? - Vera poured boiling water while we sat down at the table.

    “Yes and no,” I dipped the tea bag twice and very artistically into the water, and then handed it to Daria. - My notes and the method of compiling them is a tool. What should be done with the tool? True, Van is right to use.

    In surprise, Ivan's head in the laptop monitor began to fuss and chew faster.

    - A? What? - he did not swallow, muttered. Vanya has been in another city for a month, but did not even think of skipping our meeting.

    - So, I write down every little thing. Who knows what comes in handy later? An idea, a task, a reminder, a meeting, a book - everything is in a notebook. Finish it, my children, and I will open up a whole new world for you - at the beginning of the year I didn’t have a single “n” without a good reason, apparently this fact allowed me to be considered an expert.

    Vanya was conveniently placed on a stack of books, we sat on a “living” triangle on the floor, laid out clean notebooks in front of us, mine was full.

    Index
    image

    On the first and in the future, always on the right page of the notebook at the beginning of each month, an “Index” block is formed. An index is a table of contents that helps you quickly find the topic you need. The table of contents includes the topic and page numbers on which the topic is addressed.

    - That is, first you need to number the entire notebook ?! Roared Daria.

    - In the original system - yes, but it’s more convenient for me to number the page after it is filled, because often sheets from a notebook simply break out.

    - And what topics? Need to decide in advance? To bang? - Vanya, it turns out, also listened, although his head all the time looked somewhere to the side.

    - At first - this is impossible, because you still do not know what exactly will fall into the notebook. But after a couple of months, this block will almost always be filled immediately. So I already have a formed “backbone”, but from time to time something appears and disappears.

    The calendar
    image

    On the back page of the Index, a “Calendar” block is formed for a month. The calendar is used to record events that are not likely to change in the date, such as birthdays, appointments, course dates, etc. To create a calendar, you need to write down the day of the month one after another, put down the days of the week.

    - Ahead of the question, Vanya, no, this block is not completed immediately, but within a month, more on that later.

    - Even a wholly-owned event can carry over, tear out a leaflet? - Vera asked sarcastically. A skeptic from her always turns out to be excellent. It is both annoying and fruitful in discussing various ideas.

    - Great question. In the original, this nuance is not described, perhaps this is due to the mentality of the author and the peculiarities of meetings in the West. Unfortunately, or fortunately, everything is different here. And for convenience, I use the following scheme:
    1. I leave a certain distance between the day of the week and the description of the event;
    2. If the event is canceled, then I put a circle with a cross in an empty area;
    3. If it was postponed, then I put the arrow to the right and the number to which the event is transferred, and then in this day I prescribe a link, for example, “See 02.24.15 ".

    - And if the event is postponed to the next month? - and we were all sad, Daria talked about the scholarship.

    - Hmm, in this sad case, you can put a circle with a cross at the event and duplicate the event in the next calendar, and if it is not completed, then I would set myself the task - "create a calendar for the next month and duplicate the event from 02.24.15" .

    Agenda The Agenda

    block is a list of tasks, notes, and events for the day. Most often filled on the eve and during the day. Only 3 types of markers:
    • Tasks - current affairs, indicated by checkboxes. If the task is completed, a checkmark is checked. If the task has lost relevance, it is crossed out. You can use subtasks;
    • Notes - ideas, observations, are indicated by bold dots;
    • Events - upcoming meetings and events are indicated by "empty" circles. An important event is duplicated in the "Calendar" block.
    You can also use notes. Notes are margin marks. They help to understand the essence of the record (“Priority”, “Explore”, “Site”, etc.):

    - Wait, wait, wait. Those. if we need to meet tomorrow night, then I will write the record “Meeting with the company” with the marker “Event” on the agenda of tomorrow, Daria began to reflect. - If I need to prepare a report for tomorrow’s workshop, I’ll write a “Blubblab Report” with a “Task” marker, and if tomorrow I find out that the teacher went to the “hospital” for two weeks, then this moment will end up in a notebook, but already with a “Note” marker. So? Is it all spent unnecessarily a lot of time?

    - At first, it seemed to me that filling out a notebook was a waste of time, but after a couple of weeks I began to notice that I had more time in a day. If I forget something, I just need to look in the notebook. If any idea occurs in my head, I will write it in a notebook and - importantly - I will return to thinking it over. Notepad always has actual task statuses. Performing another task, I get pleasure from putting "daw" - it motivates. At the end of the day, the executed agenda charges with a positive and the right attitude. And I’ve never been late for a lecture yet - I didn’t seem to be going to, but still looked in the direction of Vera, who had already managed to look away.

    - Did you say something about various topics in the table of contents? - Ivan looked strictly at us, apparently, now we were a priority.

    Collections
    image

    Collections are thematic lists. They help to “fill in” the monthly calendar and agenda (for example, “List of books to read”, “Web resources”, etc.).

    In the original, several pages are allocated for the “Collection” blocks after the “Calendar” and before the “Agenda”. But in my case, “Agenda” and “Collections” are mixed up because it's hard for me to guess how many pages need to be laid.
    The topic “Collections” is indicated in the “Index” block by name and page, if the topic is new; only a page if the topic has already been encountered this month.

    - It is clear, i.e. when you’re bored at the lecture, you open the Index, find the topic Timekillers, drag your finger to the page number, open it and voila, a list with interesting web resources in front of you, Vanya summed up with an example. The head was distracted again and stared off to the side.

    “Well, sort of,” I almost agreed. - Ver, be in your list yesterday the item "Prepare for the seminar" ...

    - ... we would not get together today! - Vera looked at my reaction, smiled and proceeded to fill out a notebook.

    Instead of a conclusion

    A couple of weeks later, Vanya returned and adjusted the blog post ;
    Daria learned to convey notes more elegantly;
    And Vera, a couple of weeks after the first entry in the notebook, no longer received the “n”.

    In short, then

    1. Create the “Index” page (right page) - this is the first page in notepad; The table of contents includes topics and page numbers;
    2. Create a “Calendar” for the month (left page): the name of the month, numbers and letters representing the days of the week. On the contrary, we indicate the birthdays and dates of other events, which certainly will not change;
    3. We form the “Agenda” (for one or several days). We use the markers “Tasks”, “Notes”, “Events”. Be sure to number the pages, enter the data into the index;
    4. If necessary, make notes for each task or event;
    5. We make "Collections", the topic is indicated in the "Index";
    6. At the end of the month we move all current tasks to the new “Calendar”.
