"Poster": the whole truth about your life and "say thanks"
When we launched the new version of Afisha.ru in July , the hundreds and thousands of user opinions about everything became the most valuable result for us. They began to come at times more active than before. The next step in terms of world domination of increasing convenience was "not to change anything, but to make the lives of users visual."
That is exactly what happened today. Previously, each user's typical page looked like a dull incomprehensible thing. Now it briefly presents the data that had been accumulating in our bottomless database clusters for a long time and which were not visible to anyone.

Here there are fresh impressions, and a new review, and what the user considers the best of all places and works. Places are immediately put on google map. Forums activity also pops up. User ratings and preferences - at a glance. Poster remembers what you liked and what not, what you wrote the reviews for, and what you don't even deserve a two-star rating. "Poster" now not only remembers, but also helps you tell other people about your impressions.
But this is only part of the change.
The second important change was the ratings for reviews. We were tormented and prevented from sleeping at night by the thought that the best reviews of those users who went to the movie among the first were forever buried under all those “so-so” sayings that appeared later. In addition, some reviews themselves are masterpieces - it’s a shame that no one will see them.
So there were reviews ratings. After a short discussion lasting many months, we drew sketches, and today they have become live buttons on the site, the meaning of which is in the title: did you see a good review? Say thank you!

The beauty is that everyone wins: the reviewer receives feedback, readers can immediately see the very thing on the page of any movie, club or restaurant. And this allows us not only to bring up the opinions of observers of the “Poster” itself, but also to give an alternative look. Here is what’s happening on the page of the movie “12”:

The “Thank you” received and their relation to the number of reviews is a good way to understand what kind of user is in front of you and how much you can trust what is written. Therefore, now every review except the author’s name displays its userpic (it’s much easier to distinguish users) and the number of “thanks” and reviews. A number is more likely an indicator of a user's maturity and experience. And it’s not at all worth competing for, although there will certainly be reviewer enthusiasts who write reviews of everything that happens, rolls or plays.
Of the other pleasant things - actually the map, on which are marked all the places that a person rated or wrote a review for. We thought at first that this would turn into “walking around the city with such and such,” but it suddenly turned out that the map perfectly reflects the habitat — where does this person live and where does he go, what does he like best and what doesn’t he like. The most beautiful thing here is that the user does not need to rest against the horn and specifically bring something somewhere. This is not a new service with thousands of fields and the requests “add what you think about it” or the offers “and also indicate three hundred of your favorite places on the planet”.

Everything happened and happens on its own - users put stars or write reviews, and the Poster turns them into a slender, colorful, understandable picture. No special skills in designing or organizing your impressions from users are completely required.
Continued adventures with user data follows. In the meantime, try to see which of your friends what he loves and where he goes.
