
Retargeting in myTarget
Why do you need to set retargeting in myTarget? For example, online shopping? Because in “My World” or “Odnoklassniki” there are a lot of people who can sell goods (especially for women, children’s products and anything related to the construction and home improvement); because people who use these social networks are perfectly prone to buying this type of product. The audience automatically increases, because many people sit, for example, only at Odnoklassniki and do not use Vkontakte or Facebook. That is, if we only advertise in Yandex.Direct or Vkontakte, we partially lose some of the traffic from an audience older than 30 years.
Not so long ago, just about a month ago, Mail.Ru Group launched myTarget, an advertising platform that unites the mobile audience of the largest services and social networks in Russia and the CIS, including VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and My World. This service is not very different from Target Mail.Ru and it can simply be called the “former Target Mail.Ru”.
1) First we need to go to the myTarget service and log in / register with it. There is nothing complicated here.

2) To create a retargeting audience, go after registration to the menu item "Audiences". I want to note that there are very cool opportunities: you can target by phone numbers from the customer base, by email, to group members in Odnoklassniki. But we need to target by retargeting, and for this it’s worth creating a counter Topmail.Ru.

3) Next, go to Top@Mail.ru Copy the counter ID.

4) Then we return to the "Data Sources" menu item "Audiences" of the service and add the counter ID, click "Send a request to add." Well, here. we linked the counter to myTarget, but that’s not all, because we need to create the audience itself.

5) And for this, we return to our counter and create goals in the "Goals" tab in the "Counter settings." In this example, I will target those who were on the basket page and those who were on the site and viewed more than 5 pages (in my example, I am setting up for my client’s online store). There are many opportunities here, because the goals can be set in many ways: time of visit, visit to a specific page, click / onsubmit to events.

6) After linking the counter, click on the “Create an audience” button and create it by selecting the necessary parameters. In my case, I make 2 audiences: those who were on the site and viewed more than 5 pages and those who were in the basket. When setting up the audience, I advise you to disable “cross-device” (uncheck the box “Extend coverage to other user devices”). That's all. Done.

7) Then everything is standard: we create a campaign in which we make the ads we need. Here it’s no more difficult than creating ads for YAN in Yandex.Direct. I advise you to create a teaser 90 * 75 for social networks and mail.ru services. It will not be superfluous to put utm tags, where we will receive data on the field, age and geo for analytics.

8) We connect the retargeting audiences we created in the campaign settings. You can also specify the targeting you need in your creation (interests, education, status, income, etc.), but you should disable the standard display of an ad in Russia (let the broadcast go to the whole world, we have remarketing). It’s better to set the payment price for impressions, rather than clicks, so that the budget doesn’t especially merge. Well, then just click "Create Campaign", indicating its name.

9) In the same way, we create a campaign for ads of the audience that viewed more than 5 pages of the site. We add something motivating there in creative ads. But do not do as I have configured. I just showed you the possibilities for retargeting in myTarget.
We replenish the account. And rejoice.
