The most important thing - now the add-on has an additional popup window. It shows the link to go to your personal account and the history of all notifications.

Also now the type has changed. There was an "application", and now it is an "addition." Unfortunately, it is not possible to update from the application to the add-on. Therefore, we had to refill it. It is necessary to be updated manually. We will briefly describe how the add-on differs from the application, and why we had to switch.

You can delete the old one, it will not be updated, but it will continue to work until some global updates.

Also, from the previous news post, we added a channel selection for viewing the history, as well as a search for channels and notifications. And we also decided to give at least 100 thousand notifications every month for each channel.

What is the difference between the addition of the application

To begin with, the application has an icon in the list of applications. By clicking on it, the window of your application opens. In your manifest will be:

To make an addition from the application, you just need to remove the app section, move backgroud to a higher level and add for example “browser_action” - the same button on the browser panel.

But in this case, chrome will not let you update the application, you will have to create a new one.

Why did we even do this?

We used a hack to open links from notifications - a temporary window of 1 pixel size was opened, and a link was opened from it in a new tab. The fact is that if you open the link directly, then in the case of HTTPS links, chrome fell.

In the case of the hack, we had a flickering window on the screen + some delay in opening. And on OSX, this temporary window for some reason did not close at all. And also, we needed to somehow expand the functionality, with the same history panel.

The solution to the problem was to use the “tab” permission, but it works only on add-ons and is not available on extensions. Through it, you can directly create a new window (tab), with the link we need. Additionally, for example, you can post the address of the current tab in the form of a notification somewhere. It will turn out a small analogue of services for sending addresses to smartphones, you can only post immediately to the channel, to your entire audience.

Story categories

We made the division of history into categories. This allows you to select a specific channel on which you want to view notifications. It must be borne in mind that this is not a familiar channel feed. These are the notifications that went through the filters you selected.



For example, you can select the SoHabr channel and see the pushas passing through it. Note, this is all with the filters that I have chosen for myself, among them: notifications, android, google.



This allows you to use pushall as a reader with a predefined filter. That is, you receive important notifications, those that are important to read immediately - you click and read, the rest can be brushed off and read by selecting them from the story.

Search

We did an instant search on channels and notification history. Through channels, it works from a single character entered, you can enter several words. According to the notification history, the search works on one keyword starting from the three characters entered.

100 thousand notifications for free every month

We do not yet have paid customers, and we decided to increase the previously promised 5,000 notifications per month to 100,000 notifications, at least. If we like your channel, we can give you even more notifications for free.

This action will be assigned to all new and existing channels, that is, even after its end. all previously created channels will be able to send out as many notifications.
