School of High Performance Computing in Scientific and Engineering Problems Opens at Innopolis University

Representatives of 15 regions of Russia and 4 CIS countries participated in the event. The program and the link to the online broadcast under the cut

This summer at the site of the new Russian IT university in the city of Innopolis, the Summer School was opened, organized jointly with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology . The start of the event was given by the director of Innopolis University Dmitry Kondratyev, who greeted all participants in the university, told about the history of its creation, training programs and wished the participants to spend time with benefit within the framework of the project. During the week, the event will host review lectures on topical problems of mechanics of deformable media, as well as their applications to engineering problems.

This is the seventh Summer School, conducted by the scientific and educational center of supercomputer technologies. In cooperation with Innopolis University, the School is held for the third time. For the first time - at a new site, in the educational and laboratory building of the University in the city of Innopolis. Among the lecturers of the School are Professor Bharat Sony , a well-known specialist in high-performance computing and their applications, vice president of the University of Technology of Tennessee, USA
Applications for participation in the school were sent by young researchers from all over Russia - from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok. Among the students for the first time appeared students and graduate students from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
“This year the main theme of the School is narrower and more specialized than in previous years. Students will be presented with test problems for solving elliptic equations found in the theory of elasticity, computational geometry and pattern recognition. Judging by the questionnaires, all school participants are interested young researchers conducting scientific work in these areas. Some students want to enter the Master's program at Innopolis University and consider the School not only as a platform for acquiring new knowledge, but also as an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the university. All the teachers of the School strive to contribute to the fact that 8 working days would not only be useful to students in terms of gaining new knowledge, but also be spent in pleasant communication, establishment of new scientific contacts and mutual enrichment with ideas of new developments ”,

The Summer School of High Performance Computing in Scientific and Engineering Problems is being held with the support of MegaFon, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and telecommunications partner of Innopolis University . For everyone who wanted but could not come to the Summer School in Innopolis, an online broadcast of lectures was organized
