System Administrator Day 2015

On the last Friday of July in our country it is customary to celebrate World System Administrator Day annually. In America, the name of this holiday sounds somewhat different - Thanksgiving Day to the system administrator. In 2015, all system administrators will celebrate their professional holiday on July 31.
On this day, it is customary to honor the modest workers of the "invisible front" who protect the welfare of corporate networks and computers - because the successful work of the company directly depends on them.
A bit of history:
The "father" of the holiday is an American system administrator with 20 years of experience Ted Kekatos, who considered that at least once a year system administrators should feel gratitude from users. The first time this holiday was celebrated on July 28, 2000. It was just a picnic on the outskirts of Chicago, which was attended by members of a small software company.
Since 2006, “World Information Society Day” began (since 2007, World Telecommunication and Information Society Day), which is fixed for May 17. Proclaimed by the UN General Assembly, this memorable day has an official status, and, apparently, can replace the day of the system administrator.
However, the last Friday of July is not going to lose ground. For example, since 2006, an All-Russian rally of system administrators has been held near Kaluga every year, gathering more and more participants every year. So, if the first meeting was attended by about 350 people, then in 2009 more than 4,000 people from 174 cities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan came to it. There is also a meeting of system administrators in Novosibirsk, which takes place on the shores of the Ob Sea.
By the last Friday of July, the LinuxFest festival is timed. And these two festivals are held not far from each other.
