Registration for the conference on computer linguistics "Dialogue" is open
From May 27 to May 30 at the Russian State Humanitarian University (RSUH) will be held the international scientific conference on computer linguistics "Dialogue" . Details about what is “Dialogue” and why ABBYY organizes this conference, we wrote here . The main topics of this year's conference:
Analysis of social media texts . On the one hand, linguists are interested in the lively dynamic language of social networks, and on the other, these networks generate a huge amount of relevant information, including evaluative information that interests everyone, from politicians to creators of cameras and movies.
The problems of linking various linguistic resources created for different languages into a single informational whole (the so-called Linked Data ).
Since the Dialogue is an international conference, traditionally, experts in computer linguistics of a world scale take part in it.. This year:
• Roberto Navigli (Roberto Navigli) - May 28, Thursday, 15.30-16.30 - guest speaker on Linked Data; Project Manager BabelNet; University of Rome La Sapienza (Italy);
• Preslav Nakov - May 29, Friday, 15.30-16.30 - one of the most respected experts in the world will make a report on the topic “Analysis of Social Media Texts”; Qatar Computer Research Institute (Qatar);
• Alan Cienki - May 30, Saturday, 15.30-16.30 - guest speaker on the topic "Multimodal buildings"; Head of the Cognitive Laboratory of Polymodal Communication, Moscow State Linguistic University; Professor of English Linguistics at the Free University of Amsterdam (Netherlands).
May 29 will be "Technology Day". This is a special event of the "Dialogue", designed not only for scientists and developers, but also for potential customers of linguistic technologies. On this day, there will be presentations of developments to solve practical business problems and review reports on individual market trends.
The day ends with a round table devoted this year to technologies of business analytics (and, in particular, visual analytics), big data: corporate and news collections of documents, data from social networks, messaging services. If you are interested in these topics, we highly recommend attending the conference on May 29th.
The tradition of "Dialogue" is the holding of competitions of automatic document analysis systems. This year, under the auspices of the "Dialogue", systems that assess the tonality of texts in Russian have been tested. Competitions to assess tonality have been going on for several years. The main task of the previous tests was to automatically analyze the tonality of generally small texts - user reviews (about films, books, digital cameras) or opinions expressed in the form of direct or indirect speech (news). The main goal of the new testing cycle is the automatic assessment of tonality in relation to a given object and its specific properties. The data includes restaurant reviews, car reviews, tweets about banks or telecommunications companies.
The test results will be summed up on the "Dialogue" (at the end of the conference we will publish them on the blog, stay tuned).
