Microsoft will abandon Patch Tuesday for Windows 10

Microsoft has announced the abandonment of the well-known Patch Tuesday model for delivering security updates for Windows 10 and its components. Now, for home users of Windows 10, security updates will come immediately after their release by the company, without waiting for updates of other products on a fixed day. Microsoft released security updates every second Tuesday of the month, with the exception of only a few updates for dangerous exploited-ITW vulnerabilities that required immediate closure due to their high level of danger.

For enterprise users of Windows 10, Patch Tuesday is likely to continue to exist. MS explains this by the fact that already released updates at the time of their centralized release to corporate users will be run-in on regular users. This minimizes the risks of installing updates for corporate users in the event that the update can damage the stability of the OS or render it inoperative.
