Good afternoon! 
My name is Aleksey Bragin, I welcome all the guests to the opening of the ReactOS Foundation blog , which was made possible thanks to the Thematic Media startup support program.
On behalf of the entire ReactOS project development team, I present to you the new release of our operating system at number 0.3.17.
As reported on our project’s website, the main new feature of this release is the inclusion of NTVDM, an emulator that supports a large number of 16-bit applications and so long awaited by the community. NTVDM is still under development, but we believe that at this stage of its development it has already been completed enough to be presented to the public.
However, this is not the only significant improvement in the release of 0.3.17. It is worth noting the serious progress in correcting errors in font processing:
For the first time in this release, Oracle / Sun JAVA and programs that use it can work stably.
Some testers of the ReactOS project managed to launch quite “demanding” applications and games:

Unfortunately, our experience in supporting the NTFS file system and the new file system shell explorer_new not included in the release, because we want to bring them to a decent state. However, they will be available very soon in full in nightly builds and, of course, in the next release at number 0.4.
Yes, you heard right, a series of releases 0.3.HY came the CTRL + the C . Ahead of 0.4 and a few surprises!
ReactOS is fast approaching the stage when changes from version to version will consist only in a small refinement and corrections of existing functions. This will be an important milestone in the development of the project, since having passed it we will be able to recommend the use of ReactOS on an ongoing basis to everyone who wants to do this.
PS If you still have not guessed why this release was called by me “numerological”, pay your attention to the version number, release date and url of the news about the release. Honestly, we did not intentionally achieve this.
