Fastest Intel Core

We blow the dust of centuries from the manuals for liquid cooling systems, buy the most fashionable cases and the most top-end video cards! Intel releases the most powerful PC processor in its history - Intel Core i7-5960 Extreme Edition. Like all products with the EE index, the new processor is designed for fans of extreme overclocking and enthusiastic gamers yearning for new cores and the prospects of their merciless operation.

The fourth-generation processor Intel Core i7-5960X(the code name of the microarchitecture is Haswell-E) has 8 cores (16 threads), operating at a frequency of 3 GHz (3.5 GHz in turbo mode). You probably should not say that the cores are broken by a factor. In general, the overclocking capabilities seem very impressive: during preliminary tests of engineering samples, the Russian overclocker, known in the community under the name TaPaKaH, reached a frequency of 6.25 GHz.

Together with the top model, the audience was presented with “simply powerful” six-core i7 processors with an unlocked multiplier: 5930K and 5820K (frequency 3.5 GHz and 3.3 GHz, respectively). All announced models will work with the new Intel X99 chipset supporting Thunderbolt 2 and DDR4; they will be executed in the LGA2011v3 form factor.
The cost of the Intel Core i7-5960X processor will be $ 999, 5930K - $ 583, 5820K - $ 389. All processors are already available for purchase in Russia - alas, alas, it's more expensive.
