External differences are in the rounded aluminum frames and the case thickness reduced by 7.3 mm for the Xperia Z3, while for the Z3 Compact these frames are plastic and translucent, but the back panel, unlike the previous model, is now also made of tempered glass. As for the colors, in addition to the usual black and white, the Z3 will be released in copper and silver-green versions, and the Z3 Compact will also be orange and mint green.

    SmartWatch 3 and Smartband talk

Two new devices will appear in the SmartWear line of wearable electronics. The new version of the “smart” watches from Sony is now running the Android Wear operating system, recently introduced by Google. The watch has a built-in microphone, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass and GPS module, and is also protected from water and dust in accordance with the IP68 standard. The updated 1.6-inch display has a resolution of 320x320 pixels, and 4 GB of internal memory allows you to use the watch autonomously, for example - on a morning run. The Lifelog app will track your movements even if you leave your smartphone at home. On the watch screen, you can display any data, whether it is a weather forecast, the latest news or messages from friends, while you do not need to enter any data manually - Android Wear perfectly understands voice commands.

The SmartBand lifelogging bracelet also did not stay away from updates - it received a curved e-ink display, a built-in accelerometer and altimeter, a microphone and a speaker. The display can be used to quickly access Lifelog statistics or display a clock on it. The microphone allows you to use voice commands to control your smartphone, and the sensors provide the most accurate collection of data on physical activity, distance traveled and altitude achieved (if, for example, you are interested in mountain climbing). Among other things, SmartBand now has a higher protection class - IP68, which is very important for lovers of an active lifestyle.

Very impressive announcements, right? And while the flagship smartphone updates, as is usually the case in the fall, are mainly cosmetic, the appearance of a compact tablet and watch with Android Wear made me personally very happy, and the improved SmartBand takes into account all the wishes that arose during the existence of the first model .
