Generic USB plug inserted on either side, ready for production

In April, Intel showed off the first sketches of a new type of Type-C connector. Actually, both the connector and the cable itself are a new type of USB developed by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF).

Now this organization (USB-IF) has already prepared USB Type-C for production , as well as agreed and approved the specifications of the new standard. It was previously known that the data transfer rate on the new cable can reach 10 gigabits per second, and the physical dimensions of the connector are 8.3 by 2.5 mm.

At the same time, Type-C is designed to work with both mobile devices and laptops / desktop PCs: the developers have provided compatibility with the standard USB power delivery, which provides loads of up to 100 watts.
