Highscreen Spider LTE Smartphone Review
Highscreen is extremely prolific this year. This time I came across a new inexpensive smartphone running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with LTE / 4G, GLONASS / GPS and a five-inch screen.

Operating system : Android 4.3
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8926 (Quad-core@1.2GHz) Adreno 305
RAM: 1 GB
Internal memory: 8 GB
MicroSD: support for cards up to 32 GB
Number of SIM cards: 1
Power: 2000 mAh
Display : 5 "IPS 1280x720, OGS
Main camera: 8 MP
Front camera: 2MP
Navigation: built-in Glonass / GPS-receiver
Dimensions: 145 × 71.5 × 8.95 mm
Price: 10 990
The smartphone comes standard in Highscreen recycled cardboard packaging. As a gift, it already has 128 gigabytes of 4Sync cloud storage. Inside the box, in addition to the smartphone, a network adapter, a USB-microUSB wire, instructions, regular headphones that can not be used (why all of them stick ?!) fit. And the phone itself, of course.

The phone fits comfortably in my hand, but it was a little unusual for me because of the size - 0.4 inches of the difference with my smartphone was noticeable. To use the keyboard, I often needed both hands.
The phone has a five-inch screen. On the front side there is a speaker, a front camera and light and proximity sensors.
The volume control and the screen power button are located on the left and right side faces, respectively. These are all the physical buttons on the phone. Screenshots with this arrangement are especially convenient. On the bottom there is a microphone and microUSB, and on the top there is a headphone port.

On the back cover is the main 8-megapixel camera, flash, speaker and logo.

The phone is pleasant to hold in hands, pleased with high-quality plastic and the shape of the back cover with rounded edges.

On the right side there is a recess in order to make it convenient to remove the cover. There is no hot swap microSD in Spider, unfortunately. There is an antenna on the lid. The lid covers the battery and ports for microSD and micro-format SIM cards.

The display is based on One Glass Solution technology. The resolution of the five-inch IPS screen is 1280 x 720. The colors are very saturated, the display is bright. One of the main positive points in this smartphone. AU Optronics Corp has been producing the display, working in this area since 1996. The only negative - there are many prints left, you will often have to wipe.

The resolution of the front camera is 2 megapixels, the main one is 8. The pictures are pretty sharp - when compared with previous smartphones from this manufacturer, this time the camera is much more happy. There are a lot of settings again - so if you want and have time to deal with them, you should get great pictures.

Unfortunately, the built-in memory in the phone is again not so much - only 8 gigabytes, of which only 3.9 GB will remain for the content. If it weren’t for microSD support, then I don’t know how this can be enough. Expand memory with a card up to 32 gigabytes.
To replace the memory card, you have to climb under the cover and get out the battery - there is not enough “hot” change.
The smartphone is positioned as “powerful” and for reasonable money. The quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHZ processor and the Adreno 305 GPU do their job well.
The central processor “powerful” can hardly be called powerful in modern realities. Nevertheless, the lack of brakes in games and work pleased us. What else do you need to consider seals and gadgets on the Internet?

Benchmarks
On performance tests, the phone showed itself as follows.
CPU Prime Benchmark

AnTuTu Benchmark

Quadrant Standard

Vellamo Metal, Vellamo HTML5

Unfortunately, the second battery, as is the case with Boost 2SE, is not here. 2000mAh was enough for me for a day of active use. In any case, at work and at home you will have to plug it into a power outlet, like almost any android except Philips Xenium.
Compared with analogs, then a smartphone with LTE support and similar characteristics (hardware, a display with good resolution) in white retail will cost more. For example, ZTE Grand S in Svyaznoy will cost 16,000 rubles, moreover, it is delivered to the Russian market without 4G at all.
The most “related” in technical specifications was the Sony Xperia SP. In terms of characteristics, they are close, in price - the difference is a thousand rubles.

A comparison of these gadgets is as follows. Highscreen wins by the size of the display with the same resolution - 5 inches versus 4.6, if for anyone it is fundamentally important. Spider's front camera is slightly better. The processors are the same manufacturer, the Spider has a quad-core 1.2 GHz, the Xperia has a dual-core 1.7 GHz. Sony wins 370 mAh in battery capacity. Prices for both smartphones are indicated in the Messenger.
Summary
One of the minuses is the easily soiled screen, on which prints remain. In addition, Spider begins to heat up after long games. Another minus is the small amount of internal memory and the lack of hot swap microSD.
The advantages of a smartphone include the cost for which you get a gadget with LTE, GLONASS / GPS, a modern OS on board (some major manufacturers still release smartphones at 4.2), as well as a bright five-inch display with HD resolution and rich colors .
