Twitter bot attack. Cries for Community Help

    Hello, friends.

Today, treacherously, without declaring war, many Twitter users in Russia and Ukraine have been attacked by bots. It consists mainly in following. But for now. Some have already begun to fill with all sorts of trash in replays.

I personally ran into this problem when, from 12 o’clock in the afternoon, my cozy twitter grew by 100 readers in an hour. This may seem like a trifle, but if you do not take into account that for quite a while this figure stayed around 600 (± 10-20) subscribers.

Having looked through the twitter, I realized that this was not because of the announcement of the sale of the apartment, which I reposted from the blog the day before. This problem is global today. And the volume of disaster is greater, the more popular the user. So, the infamous Maxim Katz, for example, alsobecame an involuntary participant in the events .

At the same time, catching bots is quite difficult:

If, in my case, a temporary solution is botogenocide by removing all of today's new followers (which will still take a lot of time, because by the end of the day, I seem to be one thousandth), then for more popular microbloggers have to use either quite expensive solutions , or just hammer on this thing, and enjoy the growth of digital numbers without paying attention to replays in the future.

What do I want from a habr? Well, firstly, make sure that there really is a problem. Secondly, I want to invite the community to find a solution.

How do I see it? The bots are getting smarter. No eggs are left on the avatar, accounts are full. But I still doubt that they have grown so wise that they cannot be calculated.

If you make a service that will analyze the followers of the “victims” according to several criteria, such as:
    • The number of their subscribers
    • Account Creation Date
    • Mutual follow
    • Subscription to other "victims"
    • Blocking by other victims
    • Other (Write in the comments. The more parameters, the less the likelihood of “splashing a child with water”)

then, when connected to such a service, a person can reduce the amount of work to bring his account in order.

Unfortunately, I do not have a sufficient level of knowledge in programming (I am a simple typesetter, and even that, not of the highest level, probably). That is why I appeal to all of you. Help me and others defeat this scourge.
