Mobile Phone Laboratory Microscope

On Kickstarter , a project was launched to create a miniature Micro Phone Lens 150x lens that turns a mobile phone’s camera into a full-fledged microscope.

The author of the project is American Thomas Larson , who had previously launched a similar project . Micro Phone Lens 150x differs from its predecessor in that it can use a 150-fold increase (compared to a 15-fold increase in its predecessor). The visible resolution of the prototype is 2 microns, which is 10 times less than the thickness of a human hair. A commercial sample, in turn, will have a resolution of 1.5–1.6 microns.

Thus, we can say that this device turns an ordinary phone into a good laboratory microscope. For comparison, the author cites images obtained with the help of his nozzle and a professional Motic AE2000 microscope with a 2-megapixel Moticam nozzle , the cost of the entire structure is $ 2723.

The diameter of the lick is 6 mm, and on top is a rubber nozzle. To focus, it is enough to slightly press the glass with the sample in question to the accessory.

He will work on phones with a camera of 5MP and above.

Also, for higher quality, you will need a source of additional lighting, which will come in the kit for an additional $ 39 , the lens itself will cost $ 29 .
