Micro 3D printer priced at $ 299 raised more than $ 2,000,000 on Kickstarter in a few days

The creators call their printer "the first true consumer 3D printer." It comes ready-made - no need to collect, configure, calibrate anything. The printer weighs only 1 kilogram and is a cube with a side of 185 mm. The combination of simplicity, cheapness and compactness was so successful that the campaign reached its original goal of $ 50,000 in just 11 minutes. The Micro 3D printer has become one of the fastest growing Kickstarter projects in its history - it managed to raise a million dollars in 25 hours .



Micro prints with ABS and PLA, printing with nylon and other materials is possible. The thickness of one layer is adjustable from 50 to 350 microns. The working area approximately corresponds to a cube with a side of 100 mm. The software works under Windows, Mac OS and Linux. According to the creators, their printer is not only the most convenient and cheapest, but also the quietest and most economical on the market. The printhead uses a miniature ceramic ring-shaped heater, which consumes much less power than conventional. A reel with plastic is installed in the base of the printer, under a removable printing platform and does not take up space on the table. Mass deliveries are scheduled for November this year.
