CryEngine becomes available on the Engine-as-a-Service model

GDC brings us many surprises - following the announcement that Unreal Engine 4 is becoming available to everyone on a subscription , the same team from Crytek announced the same thing. Starting in May of this year, indie developers will be able to access CryEngine for $ 9.99 / EUR per month without any royalties.

The free SDK will also remain available, but it will not provide access to the latest engine features. It is also not yet clear whether the source codes of the engine will be available and whether it will be possible to continue to use the engine without an active subscription. Crytek promises to tell about all this in the near future.
