NYPD tests Google Glass

Well, another 5-10 years, and the science-fiction film will become a familiar reality.

Generally speaking, devices like Google Glass can be not only an interesting toy, a new-fashioned gadget, but also a serious working tool. There are a lot of areas where Google glasses can be used. These are presentations, both scientific and marketing, and data centers , and the service sector, and, of course, the police and the military.

As for the police, the New York Department is already trying this gadget in daily work.

If you don’t even pay attention to applications such as NameTag, designed to recognize faces in real time, the police can use the “glasses” to view calls, view current tasks, to communicate with the dispatcher ... But you never know, you can think of a lot.

By the way, here is a video demonstrating the operation of the same NameTag application:

Currently, New York police have only a few copies of Google Glass, with which work is being carried out. Most likely, law enforcement officers received this gadget as part of the Glass Explorer program, since Google is not cooperating with the police on this issue.

So far, the police have not shared the test results of the device, however, after a while the experiment will be completed, and it is likely that some data will appear on the Web. Well, we will wait for the results.
