Amazon announced the delivery of goods by robots (video)

More precisely, hexacopters. Jeff Bezos introduced a new way to deliver goods to customers in 30 minutes with Amazon Prime Air . Delivery using automated hexacopter.

The idea is not new, but in this case several things are good. Firstly, that a company of this level is engaged in promising developments. Secondly, that the solution looks quite complex and complete, which means that the future is really here.
Let's take a look at the video:

Automatic receipt of goods, automatic loading, automatic delivery, automatic return to base - a complete set of what you need.

Amazon plans to use copters for delivery only back in 2015, although with what to pull here it is not clear (except with the battery). It would be possible to get permission to fly in any given city, where it is easiest to do and thoroughly test the system in real conditions. Then Amazon would become the most futuristic and innovative company in the world - is it a joke, robo-birds in the service of people! This is not a hands-on phone for you to collect!

In Russia, guys also relatively recently announced a delivery service using copters: www.copterexpress.ruAlthough the site made a lot of noise, it is most likely just a landing page - there is no service there. Naturally, no one gave them permission to fly over Moscow. But moreover, when I contacted them to demonstrate their work on TV, they could not find a copter ...

Well, you can see how much their (or not their) homemade product differs from the work of Amazon:

Manual loading, manual unloading ... well, if flies by itself. Completely unfinished and ill-conceived decision.

I believe that the technologies of the future are not some kind of ephemeral ideas or fantastic drawings of teleportators, real technologies are thought-out, ready-made (or almost ready) devices to use, ahead of time and significantly improving (simplifying) people's lives.
I am sure that Amazon managed to create a copter (even a whole system) of the future. I hope we see it in action before 2015.
