Officials rejected petition to repeal anti-piracy law

An expert working group of the Government of the Russian Federation recommended rejecting a public petition demanding the repeal of the "anti-piracy law." This decision was made on October 14 during a meeting of a group led by the Minister for Open Government Affairs Mikhail Abyzov.

According to the participants of the meeting, the “anti-piracy” law in its current version for the first months of work has proved its effectiveness, having received positive feedback from many copyright holders. In this regard, experts considered that it was not advisable to discuss its cancellation.

In addition, the working group separately recommended increasing funding and resource capabilities of Roskomnadzor, noting that the burden on the agency responsible for blocking Internet sites has almost tripled since the adoption of the law.

On Habré the law and the petition have been discussed more than once, here is the last discussion: Tomorrow, October 14, the final meeting on the petition for the abolition of 187-FZ will be held .
