IFA 2013: PocketBook CoverReader

In June at Compotex I saw and showed you a Chinese case with an E Ink screen, and today at IFA 2013 in Berlin I suddenly found a similar lotion from a relatively native PocketBook. He hid the photos, details and video on cat.
So far this is a prototype, but at first glance it’s quite working. Sharpened under the Samsung Galaxy S4 and is a cover book. Unlike similar cases, it communicates with the smartphone not via Bluetooth, but directly through microUSB. In fact, one half of the book cover replaces the back cover and slightly covers the bottom case, slightly lengthening it.

There is no battery in the case, it is powered directly from the smartphone. It works quickly (seen in the video). So far, there is only one demo application - a reader. Then they promise to make another proprietary program that will display SMS messages and other notifications on a paper screen. Well, and, apparently, open access for third-party developers.

Now they are completing the model for SGS 4, it will be released in the fall at a price of 70 euros, will be released immediately in Europe, Russia and Ukraine. At the beginning of next year they will make a case for the iPhone, although they admit that they have not yet decided how to provide it with power - the iPhone does not give energy to the Lightning port.
I will be at the exhibition until the end and a little longer. I’m ready to go to the Pocketbook stand one more time if you need to find out something else.
UPD: Yes, e-ink really looks inward, but the cover can be turned 360 degrees. It is assumed that the smartphone will lie down with its screen and paper up, and all notifications will be visible.
In the reader, you can turn the pages with the volume rocker
