The Boeing website has the opportunity to track the position of the aircraft almost like in a simulator

Tracking aircraft on a map is not such a rare service, however, the Boeing website implemented this feature quite realistically for the web: the selected flight can be seen on the Google Earth map from the side, from the cockpit and schematically - as is done on most tracking services. For completeness of sensations, you can enable (or disable) the characteristic sound of Boeing 787 engines.

In order to see how the new feature looks, you can go here and click View on Google Earth in the line of the selected flight . After that, the browser (the Google Earth plugin will be required) will display a rather realistic model of the aircraft moving above the earth's surface, the role of which is exactly played by Google Earth.

If you click on the Passenger View, then - as the name implies - you can watch the flight from the passenger seat. Something like this (although there is a suspicion that this is still a static picture - it has never been updated in 10 minutes):

As you can see, the observed animation is not scripted, but is updated in real time - there is a corresponding Last Update indicator on the bottom left .
