YouTube introduced the function of a “VCR” to watch video in honor of the 57th anniversary of “Vidic”

I don’t know if in many regions children and teenagers called VCRs “Vidic”, but in my region everything was just that. Not everyone had these very “Vidic”, but those who had them could be considered lucky. Videotapes cost not so much, plus you could rent tapes for a meager price. Among other things, some models of VCRs were writers, and if such a device also had two slots for cassettes, the happiness of its owner and friends of the owner knew no bounds. Despite the popularity of VCRs, they quickly disappeared from the market. Today, you will not believe it is 57 years since the appearance of VCRs on the market. If someone doesn’t remember what the “hackneyed” cassette looks like when watching, YouTube can remind you.
Today, the service added the function of a “VCR”, which allows you to remember how it all happened, or to find out if you did not find the era of VCRs. By the way, the first commercial model of the VCR was the VRX-1000. It was demonstrated on April 14, 1956 at a meeting of the United States National Radio and TV Broadcasting Association. This is what this device looked like:

Unusual, right?
To watch a video on YouTube with the inclusion of the corresponding function, click under the video clip on the video tape icon. Here is a video with the possibility of such viewing (for videos inserted on third-party resources, it seems that the function does not work, we watch the video on YouTube itself, the link was given here in this comment ):
