Google Glass has already received official opponents

Google Glass glasses, which no one has really seen or studied their features properly, have already received opponents in the face of the creators of the site with the promising name Stop The Cyborgs.

The site raised on WordPress - the standard favicon has not yet been changed - is aimed at an initiative to publicly discuss the problems that the potentially very popular Google gadget will bring next year. At the same time, the position of the creators (it is not very clear who exactly is behind the project) can be described as balanced negative.

The essence of the main claims to futuristic glasses is that from the moment of their wide distribution (and with a high degree of probability this will happen), the concept of privacy will disappear, because the multimedia and communication capabilities of Google Glass will finally erase the boundary between what a person would like to keep only for yourself, and everyone who can view a photo or video on the Internet, uploaded there with glasses. In this case, as noted, so far no legal methods to influence how the owner of the glasses will use them exist.

Those who considers that these general arguments are too general, insolvent or likeness misoneism, are invited to consult with a long article authored by Edward Champion (Edward Champion) "35 arguments against Google Glass ". If you briefly express its meaning, it remains the same - you have to say goodbye to the privacy of people.

What can be opposed to the sinister future with Google Glass? First, everyone is invited to buy stickers and T-shirts with the Stop The Cyborg logo for $ 2.15 for a sticker and a T-shirt for $ 23.24 respectively. The product looks like this:

Secondly, for those who prefer to fight the system for free, you can download the sticker yourself (a high- quality picture is also available quality), print hang it in an office or other crowded place, in the likeness of “No smoking”:

Finally, it is proposed to begin the discussion of the problem by creating initiative groups, disseminating information and attracting authorities at a very high level: for example, US natives can find their senator in the House of Representatives and involve him in finding a solution. In fairness, it should be noted that there is no frenzied denial of Google Glass - it indicates that the device can be useful for visually impaired people, providing them with more convenient movement, or for people with Alzheimer's disease, whose memory problems can be solved by glasses, but the ubiquitous distribution of the gadget, nevertheless, it is fraught with a number of completely new problems.
