A look at HTC One: benchmarks and a test camera

March 6 in Moscow Hall HTC introduced its new flagship One, which they themselves were not afraid to call the best smartphone in the world. The journalists were given to "touch" him after the presentation ... well, we touched.

Firstly, the device is made of a solid metal case, which is very well felt. The device is assembled very high quality and it is very thin. Thinner than iPhone 5 and Galaxy S III.

    Performance

Secondly, HTC One is equipped with a Snapdragon 600 processor and it works incredibly fast, provided that it has a Full HD display.

Benchmark 2 test showed a result of 2650 points (watch the video) The

    Sound

HTC One has 2 speakers on the front side. They sound loud, but in my humble opinion they are not of high quality. (But not worse than that of competitors. It’s just very “PR”, it seems to me)

    Camera

This is a separate story. HTC One has only a 4 megapixel camera, but we all know that 4 is quite a lot. Another thing is that the pixels here are unusual. They are called "ultra pixels" because they are two times larger than the standard ones. As a result, the image is better. [ great article explaining why ]

    What is it?

A snapshot from the HTC One

Many in the comments on our YouTube channel wrote that the iPhone did better. But this is complete nonsense: on HTC One, all the elements are visible in the photo and people are very mistaken when they evaluate the photo only by the depth of contrast. I think you will agree with me that in such a dark room HTC One did a better job than the iPhone.

In addition, the HTC One optics allows you to capture much more space than the iPhone 5. The HTC camera’s sensor is the one to blame.

My conclusion : the firmware of HTC One is still raw, so it's too early to judge, but I can say for sure - the look is very cool and the camera works clearly better than that of competitors.
