ElevationDock for iPhone Overview

Briefly about the device: this is the dock for the fourth or fifth iPhone (two modifications are sold, but the first can be upgraded) from a solid piece of aluminum, which was invented by Casey Hopkins. To start production, he posted his project on Kickstarter and was able to raise almost one and a half million dollars, although he requested "only" 75 thousand. Casey funded more than 12 thousand people.
Here's a presentation video of the gadget to better present it:
Now, on the Casey Elevation Lab company website , the dock, already in production, can be bought for $ 89 plus shipping, which in my case came out at another $ 50.
After I unzipped a small cardboard box of US mail in the form of a cube, I was able to get the device out of there in a fairly simple but pleasant company box (I apologize for the photo in advance, did what was at hand)

Next, unstick the round Velcro around the edges, we get the dock on a cardboard platform

Unscrew it from the bottom of the wooden (!) area

Done, you can use it. I have an unpainted silver version, but there are other colors like matte black. The connection is stable, without surprises, there is nothing special to describe here, and this, I suspect, is good :)

By the way, how the dock looks from below. The coasters are rubber, on one of them the name of the company is extruded. You can easily unscrew the bolts by replacing the wire (standard microUSB in the device and a simple USB in the computer or outlet) with a longer one, which also comes in the kit (nice):

The main feature of the device is the weight, the dock pulls almost 600 grams, because it is made of a massive single piece of aluminum. Besides the feeling of the very quality, it also gives a very important property - when I take out the phone, the dock remains almost stationary on the table. This feature is actively demonstrated in commercials, and I must say that this is indeed so. He, of course, is still a little off the table, but I attribute this to the novelty of the connector and the fact that I insert the phone in a plastic case, and the back rubber of the support makes the landing tighter. Without a cover, the course is more free and there is no separation. By the way, this rubber band can be removed and inserted in any phone, even in a very thick case.
In general, the impressions of the device for a couple of days I had a pleasant one. Indeed, it is felt that it is of small-scale production and is made of high quality. I do not presume to say that manually, but close to this.
I have an iPhone 4S, so I ordered a version with a 30-pin connector, but in order not to lose the dock when upgrading when the time comes, I additionally ordered an adapter that will allow using iPhones with a new Lighting connector with it. This thing costs $ 15 and looks like this:

In addition to the adapter itself, a pair of hexagons and screws are included. The essence of the upgrade will be that you need to pull out the standard chip with a 30-pin connector and replace it with an adapter, into which you insert a regular Apple cord with Lightning. Yes, the wire will have to be tied to the dock, but it’s nice that the manufacturer’s inexpensive upgrade option is good.
In general, that's all, I will be glad to answer questions. A thing I can recommend for purchase to everyone who does not mind 3-4 thousand rubles for, in general, an ordinary thing that you can easily do without, but made neatly and efficiently, with this human touch, giving a little more everyday convenience.
